I added some exciting new gear to my collection this Christmas, a Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 as well as a Nikon SB-600 hotshoe flash. The equipment went to good use at a wedding we shot on the Sunday after Christmas, those photos will be posted soon. In the meantime, here are some shots taken Christmas Eve with the new lens…
Here are a whole bunch of photos I took during my vacation to Cape Hatteras. It was an absolute blast, there were 7 of us staying in a house at one of the narrowest spots on Hatteras Island. We could see the sound and the ocean from our deck. I was allowed to get down into the slick and shoot the Triple S with a bunch of professional photographers, see some of the best beaches in the country, and drink a few Yeunglings with friends. That’s tough to beat… You can see most of my kiteboarding work over at NEKiteboard, but here are some of my personal photos:
We’ve been having some issues with users who (for some unknown reason) are using Internet Explorer to view NEKiteboard. Internet Explorer would display an error that it was unable to view the page about halfway through loading the site. I tracked it down to the posts that include Vimeo videos. Through some Googling, I found that the script Vimeo uses is not playing nicely with another WordPress Plugin utilizing javascript that we have on the page.
I looked at the source and almost immediately pinned lightbox as the suspect. Upon uninstalling lightbox, the page began to view perfectly in IE. I removed version 2.02 of lightbox and rolled back to version 1.8 which is employed on my blog, which also explains why this video worked perfectly on my site all along.
I didn’t bother to send in a report to the developer of lightbox, since the old verson is compatible with Vimeo and is just as quick. However, hopefully anyone who has issues with IE and Vimeo on their sites finds this post via Google and it can save them some time.
Anyway, here is one of Mike’s videos that I used for the test:
Just some more shots that I grabbed on that point in the marsh. I also saw Shannon Best jump over an island, which was pretty bad ass. However, I didn’t get any good shots.
